# Single sign-on and sessions

You sign in to the AdPix Account once and that sign-in covers every AdPix product. A session stays alive for up to 12 hours, but at every moment it is tied to the central session being alive.

## What single sign-on means here

When you sign in to the AdPix Account, two sessions are created at once:

- **The central session** at the AdPix Account. This is what stops the next AdPix product from asking you to sign in.
- **The console session** in the product you opened. This is what actually opens the pages for you.

The console session always follows the central one, never the other way round. While the central session is alive you are not asked to sign in again; the moment it ends, the console session dies with it — even with time left on the clock.

## How long a session lasts

Every sign-in creates a session that lives for **12 hours**. After that you are asked to sign in once more. If you are still signed in to the AdPix Account in the same browser, that "sign in again" is usually a quick round trip that asks for no password.

During those 12 hours the console is not idle:

- Every time you return to the console tab, and at roughly one-minute intervals, it asks the AdPix Account whether the central session is still alive.
- If the AdPix Account announces that the session ended, the console closes yours right then.

The practical result is simple: **a sign-out anywhere in AdPix reaches the console within about a minute**, and usually instantly.

> **Every tab together**
>
> If you have the console open in several tabs, signing out in one sends the others to the sign-in screen immediately. You do not have to close them one by one.

## Why you are asked to sign in again

| Situation | What happened | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| More than 12 hours since your last sign-in | The session expired normally | Sign in again; you land back on the same page |
| You signed out in another tab or on another device | The central session was closed | Sign in again |
| You signed out at the AdPix Account itself | Every AdPix product signs out together | Sign in again |
| A platform administrator disabled your account | Sign-in is refused | Contact support or your administrator |
| Browser cookies were cleared | The session marker is gone from the browser | Sign in again |
| You opened a link to a page inside the console after the session ended | The console forwarded you to the AdPix Account itself | Nothing; you land on that page after signing in |

None of this touches your data. A session is only a way in, not a place where anything is kept.

## A session is not access

A session says you are signed in. What you can see is decided by memberships, and those live in the product, not in the AdPix Account.

Two practical consequences:

- Changing a role or adding access **needs no new sign-in**; refreshing the page applies it.
- Removing access is equally immediate; staying signed in does not preserve access that was taken away.

Separately from your role, some features also depend on the property's plan. You can hold the right permission and still see an upgrade screen instead of a report — that has nothing to do with your account or your session.

## Where to manage your account

The profile menu at the top of the console opens two pages at the AdPix Account:

| Item | What you do there |
| --- | --- |
| Account profile | Your name and basic account details |
| Password & security | Your password and the rest of your sign-in security |

Both open in a new tab, so you never leave the console. The rest of that menu — **Admin**, **Platform console** and **Sign out** — belongs to the product.

> **Language is stored on the account**
>
> Switching between English and فارسی in the same menu changes the current page immediately and is also saved to your AdPix Account in the background. Your next sign-in and the other AdPix products follow the same choice.

## Frequently asked questions

### How long does my session last?

Up to 12 hours after you sign in. Before that it also ends the moment the central AdPix Account session ends - a sign-out in any product, a sign-out at the account, or a disabled account - and the console returns you to the sign-in screen within about a minute.

### Why was I suddenly sent back to the sign-in screen mid-task?

The console asks the AdPix Account whether the central session is still alive, at short intervals and every time you come back to the tab. If the answer is no, you are signed out immediately. The most common cause is a sign-out in another tab or on another device.

### Where do I change my password or two-step verification?

At the AdPix Account. Open **Password & security** from the profile menu in the console; it opens that page at the AdPix Account in a new tab. The console never holds a password.

### If an administrator changes my role, do I have to sign in again?

No. Access is read from the server on every request, so refreshing the page applies the new role. Sign-in concerns the AdPix Account only, not permissions.
